These are some descriptions that family and friends made of the nursing technician Luiz Alves de Brito, 48, who died this Thursday (2) due to the coronavirus, in Mossoró, in the west of Rio Grande do Norte. “He loved what he did very much,” says Marcelo Brito, 38 – a nephew who was raised as a brother. According to the family, he had recently discovered pre-diabetes.

The second youngest among 12 brothers, divorced, the father of an 18-year-old girl, Luiz worked for 22 years as a nursing technician in the municipality of Areia Branca, also in the West region. He was on duty at Sara Kubitscheck Hospital, where he made several friends. The Municipal Health Department says that he had his last shift registered more than 15 days ago and no co-worker showed symptoms of the disease.
